There are nine films in the Alien universe: four main entries, two Predator crossovers, two Ridley Scott prequels, and the latest addition, a standalone film from Fede Álvarez.

Chronologically, the Xenomorph saga begins with *AVP: Alien vs. Predator*. This 2004 crossover, directed by Paul W. S. Anderson, brings to life the epic "battle of the titans" first conceived in a 1989 comic. Humans uncover a millennia-old secret: Predators (the Yautja) have been hunting on Earth, utilizing ancient cults who sacrificed themselves to the Xenomorph Queen's brood, creating the ultimate prey for the Predators. Their 2004 hunt, however, takes a disastrous turn.
