Rebel Wolves — the studio led by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, former The Witcher 3 game director and Cyberpunk 2077 co-director — has officially announced their dark fantasy action-RPG Dawnwalker's Blood will launch in 2026.
During yesterday's Xbox Games Showcase, the studio revealed pre-beta footage showcasing protagonist Coen - "a young man transformed into a Dawnwalker, human by daylight and vampire by night" - struggling to master his newfound powers.
The reveals continue on June 21st when Rebel Wolves hosts a special event timed to the summer solstice - "when the boundary between day and night grows thin, creating surprising consequences." This 45-minute presentation will feature roughly 15 minutes of never-before-seen gameplay combined with developer insights.
Notably, the event will detail several core gameplay mechanics including a directional combat system merging swordplay, magic, and vampiric abilities. Viewers will also learn how players traverse Vale Sangora and the dynamic gameplay differences between daylight and nighttime - factors that meaningfully influence narrative progression.
"We're thrilled to finally share more about the game," Tomaszkiewicz stated. "In January, we promised a summer gameplay reveal, and now we're keeping that promise. I invite everyone to join our June 21st event where we'll explore Coen's transformation into the Dawnwalker - a being straddling the boundary between worlds."
In Dawnwalker's Blood, players control Coen, neither fully human nor completely vampire. With just 30 days to either rescue his family or unleash vengeance, regardless of his growing bloodlust, players must decide: is preserving his dwindling humanity worth the sacrifice?
