Treyarch is developing a much-requested feature for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6: in-game challenge tracking. This functionality, present in 2023's Modern Warfare 3, was notably absent from Black Ops 6 at launch, disappointing many players.
While a release date remains unannounced, the feature's development was confirmed via a recent Twitter interaction with fans. With Season 2 launching later this month, its inclusion in an upcoming major content update is highly anticipated.
A recent January 9th update addressed several Black Ops 6 bugs impacting multiplayer and Zombies modes. Multiplayer saw UI and audio fixes, plus increased XP rewards for the Red Light, Green Light mode. Significant Zombies changes reversed controversial alterations from a January 3rd update, restoring the original round timing and zombie spawn mechanics in Directed Mode following player feedback.
Challenge Tracking Feature Details
The confirmed challenge tracking will likely mirror Modern Warfare 3's implementation, allowing players to select a challenge (e.g., a specific camo unlock) and view real-time progress within the game's UI. This eliminates the need to wait until match completion to check progress. This is particularly beneficial for players pursuing Mastery camos.
Additional Improvements in Development
Beyond challenge tracking, Treyarch also confirmed the development of separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies modes, addressing player requests for greater customization and convenience when switching between game modes.
