Schedule I continues to enjoy post-launch success on Steam, with the latest Patch 5 updating the game to version 0.3.3f14. This patch follows the game's overnight viral success, propelling it to the top of Steam's sales charts and attracting more players than popular titles like Monster Hunter Wilds, GTA 5, and Marvel Rivals. The game, which has taken social media, Twitch, and YouTube by storm, allows players to evolve from a small-time drug dealer to a powerful kingpin, managing the production and distribution of various drugs in the gritty city of Hyland Point.

Developed and published by Australian indie developer Tyler under the banner of TVGS, Schedule I's explosive launch has been described as "amazing but pretty overwhelming." Tyler expressed his surprise at the response in a Reddit post, stating, "I never expected this kind of response! At the moment I’m just trying to stay focused and get patches out ASAP. Also looking forward to getting started on content updates as soon as all major bugs are patched."

Patch 5 focuses on several key areas, including fixing employee, multiplayer, and casino bugs, and implementing pathfinding validity checks to prevent crashes. Here are the detailed patch notes for Schedule I Update 5 version 0.3.3f14:

Tweaks/Improvements

  • Added an active display setting to choose which monitor the game displays on.
  • Botanists will now automatically move product from their supplies to drying racks.
  • Owned vehicles are now visible on the map app.
  • Implemented a few validity checks/failsafes for NPC pathfinding and warping to reduce crashes, especially on certain chipsets (thanks to Chi Chi on Discord for the heads-up).
  • Refactored employee item movement behavior to improve efficiency.
  • Implemented NPC effects culling at a certain distance to enhance performance.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed non-host clients sometimes unable to interact correctly in blackjack.
  • Resolved a quest UI bug that could cause infinite loading screens in multiplayer.
  • Fixed clipboard selections not reassigning without first clearing the existing selection (employee beds, botanist supplies, etc.).
  • Corrected the dealer prematurely revealing their hand to non-host players in blackjack.
  • Fixed first-person jacket visuals that looked off.
  • Adjusted the 'Master Chef' achievement to prevent premature rewards.
  • Addressed property null references causing multiplayer loading and desync issues.
  • Made the drying rack 'dry' button non-interactable if the input slot is reserved by an employee.
  • Fixed NPC 'stay in building' behavior causing errors for non-host players.
  • Resolved NPC voiceover emitters throwing null references.

Tyler has also announced that the first content update for Schedule I is slated to launch this weekend, with sneak peeks to be shared soon.
