In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, early side quests in Tachov and Zhelejov offer a choice between assisting Prochek or Olbram. This guide details both questlines, "Mice" and "Frogs," clarifying whether it's possible to help both and which option might be preferable.
Can You Help Both?
While Tachov and Zhelejov are locked in conflict, completing most quests for both Prochek and Olbram is achievable. This approach provides a more comprehensive understanding of the settlements' backstories. However, a completely favorable outcome for both is impossible.
Prochek vs. Olbram: Which to Choose?
Ultimately, choosing between Prochek and Olbram makes little difference in terms of overall game progression. Both aim to sabotage the other; the choice boils down to personal preference.
Olbram's "Frogs" quest involves stealing the Zhelejov maypole, requiring nighttime stealth and potentially charming or incapacitating a guard. Prochek's "Mice" quest tasks you with painting Olbram's bull blue, demanding dye from the tailor and a lullaby potion (requiring ingredients and potentially persuasion from Radovan).
"Mice" presents a slightly higher difficulty, particularly early in the game, due to potential groschen or Speech skill requirements. Choosing Olbram might be easier for less experienced players.
How to Start "Mice" (Prochek):
Speak to Prochek in Tachov (or the innkeeper if you can't locate him).
Obtaining Dye and Lullaby Potion:

Purchase dye from Bartoshek, the tailor in Troskowitz. Acquire the lullaby potion recipe from Radovan (either through apprenticeship or persuasion). Gather oil, poppy, and thistle (found near the Troskowitz apothecary). Brew the potion, then proceed to Zhelejov, apply it to the bull, and paint the bull. Report back to Prochek.
How to Start "Frogs" (Olbram):
Find Olbram near the meadow in Zhelejov. Agree to steal the Tachov maypole to begin.
Stealing the Maypole:
Proceed to Tachov at night. Interact with the guard, Henrik. You can either knock him out or (with sufficient Speech) persuade him to leave his post for a date with Manka. Once Henrik is gone, chop down the maypole and return to Olbram. He'll then request you chase sheep from a Tachov pasture and deliver a digestive potion to Alshik.
You can complete this final task or inform Prochek of Olbram's plan, concluding both quests. This concludes the guide on the "Mice" and "Frogs" quests. Refer to The Escapist for further Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 guides.
