The Witcher 3, while critically acclaimed, wasn't without its flaws. Many fans felt the combat system fell short.
In a recent interview, The Witcher 4's game director, Sebastian Kalemba, acknowledged weaknesses in the previous game's gameplay. He specifically highlighted combat and monster hunting as areas demanding significant upgrades.
“We aim to enhance both the gameplay and the monster hunting experience,” he stated.
Kalemba emphasized that the recently unveiled Witcher 4 trailer should showcase the impactful and powerful nature of monster battles, focusing on improved choreography and emotional intensity.
Expect substantial combat improvements in The Witcher 4. Reassuringly, CD Projekt Red (CDPR) recognizes the need for significant advancements compared to past Witcher titles. These enhancements will likely carry over to future installments, especially given Ciri's role as the protagonist in the new trilogy.
Interestingly, the developers plan to feature Triss's wedding. In Witcher 3, the "Ashen Marriage" quest, originally intended for Novigrad, saw Geralt aiding Triss and Castello with wedding preparations, including monster removal, acquiring alcohol, and choosing a gift.
